Indicators are added from the indicator picker. Open it from the Indicators control in the toolbar, or launch the workspace straight into it with /chart/BTCUSDT?panel=indicators.
Picker sections
The picker organizes studies into sections so you can find them quickly:
| Section | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Active | The studies currently on the active pane. Opens here when the pane already has indicators. |
| Popular | A curated shortlist of the most-used studies (VWAP, EMA, SMA, Bollinger Bands, RSI, MACD, ATR, Supertrend, and more). The default when the pane is empty. |
| Favorites | Studies you have starred. |
| Recent | Studies you have added recently. |
Search and aliases
Type in the search box to filter by name. Search also matches aliases, so common shorthands and full names both work — for example "bollinger" finds Bollinger Bands, "%r" finds Williams %R, "h&s" finds Head and Shoulders, and "sessions" finds Trading Hours. Matching is case- and punctuation-insensitive.
Adding and removing
- Add a study by selecting it; it appears on the active pane and is remembered in Recent.
- Remove a study from the Active list.
- Favorite a study with its star toggle to keep it in Favorites.
Custom indicators you have authored appear in the picker alongside the built-ins (they are not tracked in Recent). See Writing Custom Indicators.
Per-pane indicators
Indicators belong to the active pane, so different panes can carry different studies. Your active-pane indicator choices are saved between sessions as part of your Workspace Preferences.
Next steps
Once a study is on the chart, tune it to your needs.
